Why did my post fail?
Clipr retries a failed post automatically, up to 3 attempts. If it still fails, Clipr emails you the reason. On the Posts page, find the post's message, fix the cause, then press Try again or Edit and send again.
Step by step
- Open the email or the Posts page and read the failed post's message.
- Fix the cause using the list below.
- Press Try again, or Edit and send again to change the post first.
Automatic retries
Clipr tries again after 2 minutes, then after 10 more. If the last try fails, you get an email: "Your post to @x on {Platform} could not be posted. You can try again from Studio."
What each message means
- "{Platform} signed this account out. Reconnect it, then try again." See reconnecting an account, then press Try again.
- "The upload stopped part way. Check the account before trying again: it may have been posted." Look on the platform first, so you don't post twice.
- "The platform did not finish processing the video in time." Clipr waits up to 2 hours for the platform to finish. Check the account, then try again.
- "TikTok could not post it: …" or "Instagram could not process the video: …" The platform turned the video down and gave the reason after the colon.
- A message starting "YouTube:", "TikTok:" or "Instagram:" is the platform's own error, passed on as it was sent.
- "Something went wrong while posting." Try again. If it keeps happening, contact [email protected] or ask on Discord.
- "TikTok did not answer; try again shortly." appears in the Post it panel, before posting, when Clipr can't load your TikTok posting options. Wait a moment and open the panel again.
YouTube's daily upload limit
YouTube limits how many uploads it accepts each day. Posts that hit the limit are retried. The limit resets at midnight Pacific time.
TikTok only allows private posts
TikTok may say: "TikTok only allows private posts from this app until its review passes: set the TikTok account to private, or wait for the review."
TikTok limits apps it is still reviewing to private posting. You can set your TikTok account to private, or wait for TikTok's review of the app.
More questions
My TikTok Short is too long. What do I do?
Clipr tells you the Short's length and TikTok's limit for your account. Trim it in the editor, then post again.
Can I change the caption before trying again?
Yes. Press Edit and send again on the Posts page. See posting a Short.
