Why does my account say it needs reconnecting?

YouTube, TikTok or Instagram signed the account out of Clipr, so posts to it fail until you reconnect. In Studio, open Accounts and press Reconnect on that account's card. You sign in again and Clipr keeps the account.

Step by step

  1. In Studio, open Accounts.
  2. Find the card that says the platform signed this account out.
  3. Press Reconnect.
  4. Sign in to the platform and approve Clipr, as when you first connected.

A TikTok account card saying TikTok signed this account out, with a Reconnect button

What the card says

"YouTube signed this account out: posts to it fail until it is reconnected." (or TikTok, or Instagram).

Reconnecting runs the same connect flow as before and keeps the account in Clipr.

Why it happens

Clipr renews access automatically. Instagram's access lasts 60 days and TikTok's is refreshed. A platform can still sign an account out when:

  • you change your password on the platform,
  • you remove Clipr's access in the platform's settings,
  • the access expires.

More questions

What about posts that failed while it was signed out?

They say the platform "signed this account out. Reconnect it, then try again." Reconnect, then press Try again on the Posts page. See why a post failed.

Do I lose anything when I reconnect?

No. Reconnecting keeps the account. To connect it from scratch, see YouTube, TikTok or Instagram.
